Keppel Merlimau Cogen

Keppel Merlimau Cogen

Located on Jurong Island, Keppel Merlimau Cogen (KMC) is a 1,300 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. Completed in 2007, KMC also expanded its capacity in 2013 and has provided efficient and reliable electricity to customers in Singapore.

Led by an experienced operations and maintenance (O&M) team, KMC ensures the highest operating standards by carrying out a balance of planned and preventive maintenance strategies. KMC is capable of providing black start services as well as operating on diesel, strengthening its commitment of providing the grid with reliable and secure energy supply with minimal disruption.

KMC has been consistently operating with high efficiency. Over the years, continuous innovation and technology upgrades have also been implemented, resulting in a steady decrease in the plant’s CO2 emissions. This reflects Keppel’s commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its power plant operations.

Keppel Sakra Cogen

Keppel Sakra Cogen is a 600MW state-of-the-art, advanced combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant located in the Sakra Sector of Jurong Island. The power plant is in the project development and construction stage under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with a consortium comprising Mitsubishi Power Asia Pacific and Jurong Engineering Limited.

Running initially on natural gas as primary fuel, the Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant is also designed to operate on fuels with 30% hydrogen content. In addition, as a CCGT power plant, it will be able to produce steam, for use in industrial processes for the energy and chemicals customers on Jurong Island. Expected to be completed in 1H 2026, the Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant will be the first hydrogen-ready power plant in Singapore, with the most cutting-edge and highest energy efficiency, which will translate into superior performance, such as lower emission intensity and higher operation flexibility.
